|BISHOP WILLIAM MORRIS REMOVED THIS FROM THE DIOCESAN WEBSITE|
Here is the actual offending "ADVENT PASTORAL LETTER 2006" which FOUNDATION alerted its readers to in December, 2006. :
And if Diocesan Pastoral Leadership plans haven't already set your alarm bells ringing, consider the role of one Sister Patsy Grundy, who figured so prominently on Television standing in the doorway of St. Patrick's Cathedral endeavouring to foment resistance to the removal of the Bishop. The good Sister came to Toowoomba from Townsville where she had worked fiercely for Bishop Ray Benjamin who was succeeded by Bishop Michael Putney. In Townsville Diocese , which like Toowoomba, scarcely remembers the meaning of the word "Seminarian"( they have had one retired Doctor of Medicine ordained only in perhaps 15 years).
According to always reliable sources in Townsville Diocese, Sister Patsy regarded orthodox Catholics as "pre Vatican III people who live in the past". Efforts to defend orthodox belief and practice were scorned. Loyal Catholics walked away.
"Small Christian Communities"were the goal with the aim of reducing Priests to a sideline role as the "Priest Presence"! In Bishop Benjamin's time and under the good Sister's planning some Parishes were defined as becoming "Priestless"and remaining so.A Sister Mary Lowcock RSM was running the revolution under a Plan called the "Never Ending Story"copies of which are now unobtainable. She appointed Sister Patsy Grundy as "Pastoral Leader "of one Parish and regular Sunday Masses were substituted for with Communion Services until at length a Priest was allowed in with very "restricted duties".For 15 years there was no Canonically appointed Parish Priest . Now that there is one Sister Patsy's "children of the Revolution"form a residual power group tormenting the Priest now appointed.
The good Sister went to Toowoomba for more responsibility which she no doubt found "empowering"! The removal of the sympathetic (to her planning) Bishop Morris , sounded the death knell for her revolution against the Church, little wonder she was stirring up as much resistance as she could.
