BISHOP MORRIS(DEPOSED) AND THE POISONED CHALICE

BISHOP MORRIS AND THE POISONED CHALICE

In the real world Bishop William Morris Deposed is largely forgotten, like other unpleasant experiences in a busy life.

However, in the Diocese of Toowoomba which the deposed Bishop so thoroughly wrecked, so that it had not had even one Seminarian for years, his creatures among the Clergy and paid Religious are still in place. Indeed, more than in place, they are using, without let or hindrance, the organs of the Catholic Church's Diocese to foment disaffection and promote the cause of the dissident deposed Bishop. Further, the Diocesan Website still carries and promotes Morris madness. And, at the Cathedral of the Diocese, St.Patrick's Toowoomba, last Sunday the Administrator of the Cathedral was using the Cathedral Newsletter to promote the fact that Morris advocacy documents were being distributed with his approval at the Cathedral doors. The documents were an opinion by retired Queensland Judge Bill Carter, and an opinion by a Sydney Canon Lawyer, both supporting the complaint that Bishop Morris was improperly removed from his position.

Judge Carter was a Supreme Court of Queensland Judge from 1983 to 1990. His page has been deleted from Wikipedia. He last came to our attention when he was advising the Queensland Government on the introduction of legalized Brothels. His opinion on the Morris affair was sought by Morris supporters. It  acknowledges that there is no legal basis for action in the matter at its early stages and then goes on accepting the Morris version of matters, ignoring his proposal of heretical views as being open for consideration, and claiming that he was denied natural justice. Throughout he ignores the divinely established relationship between the Successor of Saint Peter and the Successors of the Apostles. His opinion is a piece of partisan puffery. The Sydney Canon Lawyers opinion is of like character.

Apostolic Administrator Bishop Brian Finnigan  - Enough is ENOUGH
The key issue in all of these matters is the failure of the Apostolic Administrator Bishop Brian  Finnigan to take control of the various organs of the Diocese and to discipline or remove the clergy and religious giving scandal by fomenting trouble in an effort to ensure the radical license they had enjoyed under Bishop Morris.

Surely this is a matter which the Apostolic Nuncio cannot be ignorant of, an issue he would have been bound in duty to have kept under very close watch. Failing this, both the Apostolic Administrator and the Nuncio are seriously undermining the interests of the Church and of the Holy Father in particular. We can commiserate with the Apostolic Administrator in his unenviable task, but that does not excuse abandoning that duty to a gang of enemies of authentic Catholicism and their anti Church allies in the Media.
