DWINDLING DAYS - TROUBLED WATERS IN BROKEN BAY - BROKEN COMMUNION?

ALTAR AS DESK - BISHOP DAVID WALKER AND FRIENDS
ALL FOR ECUMENISM

The volume of material coming to hand on the scandalous state of affairs in Bishop David Walker's Diocese of Broken Bay is considerable, but we do not wish to try your patience by "dumping"this tale of woe before you in one post. So we are trying to massage it into bite size chunks. In the meantime, more is happening and it is difficult to predict the outcome in the short term.

Who is Bishop David  Louis Walker? He was born in the Sydney beach-side suburb of Clovelly on 13th November, 1938.He was ordained a Priest for the Sydney Archdiocese on 21st July, 1962, and consecrated Bishop on 3rd September, 1996.

The Priestly ordination date , within three months of the opening of the Second Vatican Council ,tells us what to expect. The Episcopal Ordination date preceded by about two years another very significant marker, the 1998 Statement of Conclusions, in which the Australian Catholic Bishops and the Holy See agreed on the parlous condition of the Church in Australia. So here is His Lordship to be developing as a Priest in the hysterical calamity that was the Post Conciliar Church. In this nightmare for the faithful, everything that was, was challenged, abandoned, trashed - whether it worked or not the Church had become Satan's special playground! David Louis Walker was completing his training in a horrendous Seminary atmosphere which had been overwhelmed by New Age psycho babble, and one Priest was heard to say of him "the fellow hugs trees!'For many it was all downhill from there,For the thirteen years preceding his Episcopal Ordination, his Archbishop in Sydney was Cardinal Clancy who had to be almost "hit with a shovel"before moving firmly to prevent the Third Rite of Reconciliation in his Archdiocese. This was the environment that formed him.

A comparable case is the former Bishop of Maitland-Newcastle Bishop Michael Malone (Retired early 2011), another was Archbishop Bathersby of Brisbane recently retired, another is Bishop "Call me Brian"Heenan of Rockhampton (Resigned awaiting publication of the Acceptance of his Resignation, of which he has been informed). another was Bishop William Morris (Deposed 2011) and another is Bishop Michael Putney of Townsville who has infamously written in a Pastoral Letter that the "Eucharist is a symbol"(!!!). Accordingly, we know what to expect.

To-day the Priests Council of the Diocese of Broken Bay is meeting in an atmosphere of crisis. Following the attempt by Bishop Walker to install Lay Leadership in the great Parish of Wahroonga, reducing the Priest to a mere "Presence"status the Parishioners are in UPROAR. They have great attachment to Father Martin Aye Ngwe ( designated A.P.) who over recent years has restored the Parish to orthodoxy in liturgy and moved the Tabernacle back to the central position in the Sanctuary. We understand Father is Burmese. For his orthodoxy, he has been made the target of the Bishop's "Lay Leadership"programme and has been deemed not fit to be appointed Parish Priest!

THE WHEELS ARE COMING OFF THE "NEW CHURCH" WAGON
IN BROKEN BAY DIOCESE

A PLAN FOR PRIESTS ' FUTURE
Seemingly emboldened by his approaching 75th Birthday, now 20 months away, one of Australia's dwindling band of "New Church"Bishops, David Walker of Broken Bay Diocese has at last pushed his Clergy too far it would seem. They realise of course, that what is being done to Father Martin is not only an abuse of power and contrary to Canon Law, but could happen to them. The Bishop has a record on Priest "bashing"( for those unused to Australian colloquialism, the term means denigration). A dubious"achievement" for one who is supposed to be a father to his Priests!!

PLEASE PRAY FOR FATHER MARTIN AYE NGWE AND THE PEOPLE OF WAHROONGA PARISH AND FOR THE PRIESTS OF BROKEN BAY DIOCESE. AND PRAY FOR THE EARLY RETIREMENT OF THE BISHOP OF BROKEN BAY.
