500 DAYS TO GO IN BROKEN BAY

Image
500 Days remain until the retirement of Broken Bay's Bishop David Louis Walker. Yes, that's the one - the Bishop with NO Seminarians at all! Yes, the same one who is at loggerheads with faithful Priests forcing on them " Lay Leadership" by his females of choice. Yes, that's the one who permits dissident " missioners" into his Diocese. And much more making the Diocese a Toowoomba of the South .So many trees left to hug!

500 days... they will drag, but the end , and reform is in sight!

Deo Gratias. Imagine the desperate urgency with which the ecclesiocrats he has harbored are cementing themselves in, with extended contracts and the like trying to pre-commit and pre-emptively strike the incoming reform. Those old gals will be busy!

ANOINTING ANYBODY,EVERYBODY - FALSE SPIRIT OF THE COUNCIL THE SHOW IS MOVING OUT

Image
The seven Sacraments are " Visible  signs, instituted by Christ , to give Grace..". Their Guardian is the Catholic Church. As you might expect, charged with such a heavy responsibility, the Church takes it very seriously, as she does with the governance of the whole of her life which is built around those Sacraments and thus centred on Jesus Christ our Saviour. In order for that governance to sure and certain she has a defined Code of Canon Law, which was most recently updated in the immediate wake of the Council.

Let us consider what the Code of Canon Law says about one of the Sacraments - the Anointing of the Sick- formerly known as Extreme Unction,or the Last Anointing:

Canon 1003#1
Says that every Priest, but only a Priest, can validly administer the Sacrament. ( No Deacons, no Nuns)

Canon 1003# 2
Says that Priests entrusted with the care of soul have the right and obligation to administer the Sacrament to those souls. But for any reasonable cause any other Priest with the conse…

" THE TRUTH - EVEN THE LORD'S OWN WORDS

Image
The Gospel of to-day's Mass should have been a moment of truth for Pymble Parish Mission/Renewal Team member Father "Nick "Punch O.P. who concelebrated the Mass with our beloved Curate Father Mariusz Adamczyk SDS and another visiting priest. The text was Matthew 7: 15-20 -"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves." But did the false spirit of the Council choke on these words from the Saviour's mouth?

Not a bit of it!! Rather he turned them upside down! Black was white and white was black! How was it done? Let us follow step by devious step. The smile that is wired into Father "Nick's"face never slipped. He started with a little witticism that ended with "You can't fool God!".

And so dear friends, how many of us in our lives are really trying to fool God?

Do we think that knowing the teachings of the Church is following Him ?

Do we think that attending Mass and devotions is…

THE INTENDED REFORM -STRAWS IN THE WIND

NOTE FROM THE CONGREGATION FOR THE DOCTRINE OF THE FAITH Vatican City, 26 June 2012 (VIS) -
Given below is the text of an English-language note issued today by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Fatih concerning the appointment of Archbishop Augustine Di Noia as vice president of the Pontifical Commission "Ecclesia Dei":
"Pope Benedict XVI has named Archbishop Augustine Di Noia, O.P., to the post of vice president of the Pontifical Commission 'Ecclesia Dei'. The appointment of a high-ranking prelate to this position is a sign of the Holy Father’s pastoral solicitude for traditionalist Catholics in communion with the Holy See and his strong desire for the reconciliation of those traditionalist communities not in union with the See of Peter. The president of the commission is the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal William J. Levada.
"The Pontifical Commission 'Ecclesia Dei' was established in 1988 by Blessed John Pa…

GLORIOUS GIANTS HAVE THEIR DAY

Image
After 477 years we still look back in awe and wonder at  the heroic and saintly figures of Saint John Fisher, Bishop of Rochester who was beheaded for the Faith on this day 22nd June, 1535, and Saint Thomas More former Lord Chancellor of England who was beheaded for the Faith days later on 6th July, 1535, in the course of the Deformation of the Catholic Church in England by the sex-obsessed, syphilitic plunderer of Monasteries and Churches and big time gambler ,Henry VIII of unhappy memory.

The Lives of the two Saints have filled many booksand indeed, Harvard University has published 14,000 pages of Saint Thomas More's Papers. But our humble Blog is not up tp such mighty achievements. Nevertheless, we want you to get some strong flavour of the character and true sanctity of these heroic saints and giants of the Catholic Faith , who remained true to Christ's Church when many either grabbed for money and betrayed the Lord or cowered in fear.

SHINING BRIGHT ON THE SHORTEST DAY

Image
This is the shortest day of the year here in Sydney, but no matter how short the day 's sunshine, it remains a day of shining brightness because in the universal calendar of the Catholic Church it is the Feast of Saint Aloysius Gonzaga.

Saint Aloysius was born into the princely family of Castiglione in 1568 near Mantua in Lombardy.Instructed in piety by his mother, he manifested an attraction to religious life. He legally delivered his share of the ancestral dominion to his brother and entered the Society of Jesus. While serving the sick during an outbreak of the plague, he himself contracted the disease and died in 1591.

The Liturgy of the Hours for the day gives us this very moving Reading taken from a letter to his mother by Saint Aloysius during his last illness :

"May the comfort and grace of the Holy Spirit be yours for  ever, most honored lady. Your letter found me lingering still in this region of the dead, but now I must rouse myself to make my way on to heaven at last …

NEW BISHOP OF TOOWOOMBA - THE TASK OF REFORM

Image
The announcement  by the Holy See that  Monsignor Robert McGuckin                                  has been appointed Bishop of Toowoomba in Queensland as the sixth Bishop of the Diocese since its erection on 28th May, 1929 was widely applauded some weeks back. He succeeds the deposedBishop William Morris who was removed on 2nd May, 2011 to great rejoicing by orthodox Catholics.

The deposed Bishop Morris was appointed in November,1992 to the shock of even the liberal clergy of Brisbane from which he had come, the Diocese had almost 60,000 Catholics(Total Population 219,000).There were 55 Diocesan and 16 Religious Priests a Total of 71 : 845 Catholics per Priest. There were 36 Male and 96 Female Religious.To-day the
Diocese has about    76,000 Catholics(Total Population 272,000). There
are     38 Diocesan and 7 Religious  Priests   a Total of 45: 1,688 Catholics per Priest.   There are 9 Male and 52 Female Religious.

There are no Seminarians . Toowoomba Diocese used to be the great engine…

FAIRFAX PRESS REAPS THE WHIRLWIND

Image
Only days after publishing its latest anti-Catholic effort ( See our post Sat. 16 June, 2012) , Fairfax Media has announced a radical downsizing and restructure in the face of the electronic media onslaught. The flagship Sydney Morning Herald and The Age will go Tabloid instead of Broadsheet ( in Fairfax speak they will become "compact"Ha ha ha let no-one use the the vulgar T word!) , 1,900 staff will be laid off over 3 years , including 150 editorial positions. One wonders if the bitterly anti-Catholic David Marr                                                            SMH and an active Homosexual promoter, and Chris McGillion (The Age) wiill survive the scythe? Two major printing plants will close, one in Sydney and one in Melbourne. And the organisation that could not bring itself to say "Tabloid"even suggested the END OF PRINTED PAPERS if the situation did not turn around - the" papers"would become wholly electronic!

It used to be said that some Polit…

ORDINARIATE ESTABLISHED - ORDINARY APPOINTED

Image
The Ordinariate of Our Lady of the Southern Cross under the Patronage of Saint Augustine of Canterbury has been erected to-day by the Holy Father. His Holiness has simultaneously appointed Father Harry Entwistle the first Ordinary. Father Entwistle , until now a Bishop in the Traditional Anglican Church was ordained Priest to-day in Saint Mary's Cathedral Perth by Archbishop Costelloe.

This is an auspicious commencement for the Ordinariate. We earnestly pray for its continuing success and welcome all who will join it, home to the Catholic Church as Christ intended.

GLORIOUS BODY

Image
There are aspects of our Catholic Faith that we sometimes set aside as too complex to trouble ourselves with, these vary from person to person, but might include the precise meaning of the Kingdom of God,  the nature of Glorified Bodies etc. With the help of Pope Benedict XVI, we intend to examine the latter, relying on the Holy Father's  excellent Book Jesus of Nazareth, Part II HOLY WEEK.

There is no doubt that there are questions to be asked about the phenomenon of the appearances of the Resurrected Christ:

How is it that repeatedly He is at first, not recognised ?That He is taken for some ordinary person, a gardener, a traveller, a bystander on the shore? Again , how is it that He enters instantly into locked rooms? How is it that He eats normally, and even asks for food? And how is it that He appears and the disappears, yet His risen Body is quite real : eating, wounded  ? Yes, we are a little lazy perhaps and prefer not to think it through, not to draw the various threads toge…
