SAINT ANTHONY OF PADUA -FEAST DAY

SAINT ANTHONY OF PADUA
FEAST DAY 13TH JUNE, 2012
There are very few Saints so universally revered, as my own Patron Saint Anthony of Padua. Though Portugese by birth, at his death he was intensely loved and revered in Padua and much of Italy. He was formally canonised after only one year following his death in 1231. He was made a Doctor of the Church in 1946.

Saint Anthony was famous in his lifetime for miracle working and for wonderful preaching and he is said to have had a fine preaching voice. He is , of course, renowned as the Patron Saint for recovering lost things.

And I have loved him and benefited from his patronage since I was about 7 years old!
