The fragmentation of Anglicanism is bewildering. The Ordinariate offers Anglicans convinced of the Truth a congenial way Home.vexilla regishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15905798654957674327noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28659657.post-25704473975744643502012-06-15T09:50:52.718+10:002012-06-15T09:50:52.718+10:00I think Fr Ed means 'Ordinary' of the Angl...I think Fr Ed means 'Ordinary' of the Anglican Catholic Church in Australia - a body which is now in open schism. Hepworth has not been Primate of the TAC for some months now.

Fr Ed lives in Victoria, I believe. ACCOP stands for Anglican Catholic Church Original Province, a major branch of what is known as the Anglican Continuum, though mainly based in the USA. They are a tiny church in Australia and are a decidedly anti-Ordinariate body.

I personally think Continuing Anglicanism, like traditional Anglo-Catholicism, is doomed in Australia. I've no doubt that even places like the Diocese of the Murray will go the way of liberalism. Sad, which is why I think the Ordinariate needs more encouragement. At least Anglican patrimony has a real chance of survival and growth - certainly more of a chance than being a part of the continuing movement.

BTW, it is ENTWISTLE, not ENTWHISTLE. Don't worry, a common mistake. I just noticed that Australia Incognita has made the same error.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13016284060186124679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28659657.post-19455997490086209632012-06-14T14:36:23.614+10:002012-06-14T14:36:23.614+10:00Thank you for your comment.

This is true for each person including Archbishop Hickey who has now retired and has been succeeded.

We reported on Abp Hepworth's reduced responsibilities here:http://draft.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=28659657#editor/target=post;postID=1663024791158254187 on 18th May, 2012.
I believe that in relation to Abp Hepworth you intended to say "Primate"rather than "Ordinariate".
You will see that our report ( following THE AUSTRALIAN) shows that not all but "most"of Father Entwhistle's congregation will follow him home to the Catholic Church. Thank you for your interest.( Father Bakker appears to be an Anglican - not from Australia, possibly South Africa) . I do not know the significance of the initials ACCOP, but would be grateful if anyone could enlighten me.vexilla regishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15905798654957674327noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28659657.post-60404909617456566772012-06-14T13:17:26.856+10:002012-06-14T13:17:26.856+10:00With all due respect, I dont think this informatio...With all due respect, I dont think this information is quite correct. I gather that Abp Hepworth is no longer the TAC Ordinariate for Australia and Fr.Owen Buckton of Rockhampton is the Vicar General.
The numer of people moving from Saint Ninian to the RC is overstated. Certainly not everyone in this Parish is going to Rome.

Father Ed Bakker ACCOPFrEdBakkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04731831225107760530noreply@blogger.com
